The
ritual uses of the Crown are myriad. Worn as a personal emblem of one's faith or tradition
or needed by a Priestess, Priest, or celebrant for a specific rite,
Sabbat or
Esbat,
our Crowns provide the wearer with the prefect image to honor their patron
and fulfill their role within the Circle. When a sincere person attends to
the voice of the Divine Within, there is no wrong way to hear.
In many
traditions, the Lunar Crescent Crown is worn by the Maiden. The Matron
is adorned by either the Full Lunar Crown or the Lunar Phase Crown.
The independent-minded, opinionated Crone wears a veil Crowned with whatever
she pleases--not uncommonly the Lunar Phase Crown or the Dark Lunar Crown,
as the mood takes her.
We invite you
now to peruse our ritual Crowns as they have been imagined by our artisans.
Seek with the eyes--listen with the heart.
His is the
original Passion of Life who of His own will bares His throat against the
sickle blade. His blood is poured out for the lives of His children that
the gates of the Summer Lands shall be opened, for death can have no final
triumph over Him. He is the Master of the Wild Hunt,
the warrior who bests the grave to be reborn of the Mother, even as we
return with the turning of the Wheel.
Do not let
your understanding of this primal masculine spirit be limited by modern,
civilized ideas of male/female. Cernunnos exalts the qualities of courage,
boldness, untamed energy, and driving forces of life. His masculine energy
is uncorrupted and in balance with the natural world. Such qualities, such
energy, are rightfully desired by all human beings, for
masculinity and femininity ideally exist in balance within each of us,
regardless of the body we are wearing at the moment.
This Crown
could serve no greater purpose than to mark you as the Horned God as you
stand before the Goddess brazen and terrible in your power; as you
work within your circle in the deep forest amongst the beasts and the wilds;
prowling the outer edges of the circles of power watching and protecting
your followers.
Our Cernunnos
Crown upholds paired antlers which are each over 7cm. high. These antlers
flank an upright pentacle, 2cm. in diameter and centered over the Third Eye. Cunningly modeled after those of an actual eight-point stag, the
antlers are not stylized but possess a graceful natural curve. Our artisans
respectfully handcraft each Cernunnos Crown, bestowing a rich golden brown
patina on the bronze. Then every intricate detail is individually
burnished; a time-consuming process that yields an even hue and sheen.
With the
turning of the Wheel, the ancient drama endlessly unfolds as we each embrace
our roles.
