There is no need to
reluctantly choose either Left-Facing or Right-Facing, for this
bronze Eye of Horus is perfect in all particulars upon both sides.
Each view is the mirror twin of the other, of a symmetry befitting the
emblem of He who upholds maat upon the Earth. The deep, 1" diametre
socket allows the piece to be fitted firmly to the crown of a staff. Though
of an impressive size, being 7" in height overall, staves capped with our
distinctive Eye of Horus are quite wieldy and easy to balance due to its
cunning pierced design, and can be carried and maneuvered with grace.
There are of course
myriad appropriate purposes for this powerful symbol, befitting its dizzying
antiquity. To accommodate same, we also craft the Eye of Horus emblem
sans socket, that it may stand freely, be placed flat upon a horizontal
surface, or be suspended upon a vertical surface. In this version the height
overall becomes 6". Identical in all other particulars, these two
variations both are offered with your choice of a highly polished natural
stone, within and forming the orb of the All-Seeing Eye. Make your selection
according to your intent: Carnelian, guardian of the mind's tranquility and
stone of courage; Howlite, conqueror of pain and stress, stone of calm
self-control; Black Onyx, for grounding, focus, and the confounding of
psychic attack; or Serpentine, for defense against toxins, be they of the
body, mind, or spirit. These stones are not flat ovals, but fully formed,
rounded carven ovoids. Being set completely within the Eye, each stone is
equally striking from the Left-Facing and Right-Facing views, giving the
piece yet greater depth. These high-quality, firmly set stones are included
in the purchase price; there is no additional charge.
If it is your
preference, you may also order either variation of the Eye of Horus without
an insert. This completely open form is of course to be preferred for
certain purposes. Or you may wish to affix within the Eye your own 1 15/16"
by 1 3/8" stone. However, we must note here that more than merely an
aesthetic, harmonious design (though that is all certain modern eyes can
see), the All-Seeing Eye of Horus was already ancient when the Sphinx was
but an architects' dream. We urge that you give due and thoughtful
consideration to the choosing of such a stone, even as we have done in
deciding upon our selection of stones. Likewise, he who would wield this
emblem upon a staff should decide upon the correct wood after all due
thought, and reflection upon its purpose.
Should you have an existing staff that you would prefer to use for your Eye
of Horus please provide us the diametre and any other specific requirements so
that we may modify the design to your specifications. Should you prefer a
stone insert that we do not yet offer please contact us with your desires so
that we may accommodate them. Please consult our Price List
for particulars and shipping costs.
