This our own Serpent
Lamen Sword bears upon its crossguard the Lamen, by express permission of
the Ordo Templi Orientis Grand Lodge
U.S., even as does our Scarab Lamen Sword. However our Serpent Lamen
Sword is a shorter, lighter, quicker weapon, which can be wielded with grace
and great precision. The lesser weight makes this also the sword of choice
for lengthy rites in which the sword is the dominant implement, lest a weary
arm create imprecision.
The Lamen of the
crossguard is contained within a Vesica Piscis, and is flanked by twinned
Cobras; the design being displayed entire upon both sides of the solid
bronze guard. In forming the quillions, the rampant Cobras (the
uraei
of Egypt's noon and power) display their hoods fully flared, and are nicely
detailed without being over-delicate. The hilt is likewise crowned by a
pommel of solid bronze. With an
overall length of 30" the
high-quality carbon stainless steel blade of the Serpent Lamen Sword can be
sharpened to a keen edge, which it will well keep. The effect of grace
wedded to strength is complemented by the intricate grain of the finely
finished grip of imported natural wood.
Of necessity, the
Serpent Lamen Sword is shipped unsharpened. This piece is shown with the designs of a Maltese Cross and the M.M.M. upon
each face of the pommel. Other pommel designs are
available. We include a practical, sturdy
Black Leather Scabbard, with belt
loop.
